In re H.W.

In re H.W., 237415

Held that a shoplifting juvenile did not violate a California law that prohibits the possession of certain physical tools that can be used for burglary. He contended that the statute does not cover pliers for removing anti-security tags. Finding merit in his argument, the California Supreme Court clarified the requisite intent to trigger criminal liability under the burglary tool possession statute.
